Many times, people focus solely on the bride – both before the wedding day and during the actual event as well. However, the absolute truth is that it takes TWO to make a wedding – and the groom is just as important as the bride. Even more, this is a special day for him as well, so he’ll want to chip in and help you out with the planning too.
What are some groom-friendly wedding planning tips? We have gathered them right below – so read on if you want to find out more.
- Choosing a Best Man and dealing with the groomsmen. Just as you pick a Maid of Honor and a crew of bridesmaids to walk down the aisle before you on the Big Day, he should do the same with his Best Man and groomsmen as well. Also, he should make sure the Best Man will follow through all of the activities the groomsmen need to be involved in (including, but not limited to renting or buying the tuxedoes).
- Purchase gifts for his guys. Your groom wants to make his groomsmen feel special – just as you want the same with your bridesmaids too. Thus, one of your groom’s tasks will be to choose special gifts for his best friends. We bet he’ll enjoy this!
- Picking a Groom’s Cake. Although it is not mandatory, a Groom’s Cake can be a really nice addition to a wedding or rehearsal dinner. Let your groom get wildly creative with this – the Groom’s Cake should be fun and it should reflect his personality, as well as his likes and dislikes.
- Tracking down the RSVPs. Sure, this is not the most entertaining job in the world – but your future groom loves you and wants to see you happy both on the wedding day and on the months preceding it. So, if you ask him to track down missing RSVPs, he will definitely want to help you out!
- Writing the vows. If you want to have personalized wedding vows, each of you will have to write these down. So make sure your groom is up for the task and remember follow up with him to ensure he’s got it ready before the Big Day!
At the end of the day, planning a wedding should be enjoyable – so don’t forget to have fun during your engagement. The colors, the food, and the flowers are all important –but don’t forget to take some time off to simply enjoy it with your SO!
